Everytime I read this poem I am overwhelmed by the sheer brialliance this poet posesses. The allusion to the war in Iraq is almost invisible if not seen by a trained literary eye. The way that it is hidden and so obvious is a marvel that only a few poets could achieve, and I applaud leila cryer for her brilliance and for her wit and and intellegence, hidden by the naivety of a child in the poem. Bravo! Bravo! This is the poem that defines a generation! The generation of hate!
this poem speaks to me in ways that poems have never spoken to me before. The hidden meaning is so deep and so complex that it makes me weep with awe that the author could convey such emotion through such a ironically simple yet intellectual wording. Bravo bravo.
