William Lever's last comments on poems and poets

  • POEM: The Lucky Ones by Charles Bukowski (6/1/2006 7:08:00 PM)

Brilliance-the adsurdity of it all-and the futility.

  • POEM: (me Up At Does) by Edward Estlin Cummings (5/3/2006 6:28:00 PM)

    Is that all it is?

    Guilt?

I'd say what the poet is expressing is that but for a simple twist of fate, it could just as easily be him lying there on the floor-afterall, it's not like ee chose to be the one able to administer the poison, just as the mouse didn't choose to be the one to which the poison was administerd to...

He might have said-'I have done what you couldn't have...but most certainly would have...if you weren't the mouse and I wasn't the man.'

  • POEM: My First Japenese Haiku's by jodi right (4/5/2005 5:13:00 AM)

Great Haiku, Jody! The imagry of a red rose in winter...stark, yet the promise of the coming spring. Another contrast, as is the the second verse....reading your work, I see you like the inherent paradox that can be found all around us...aye, 'tis true...our very existence is a paradox. Bravo!
