  • POEM: The Destruction Of Hate-Murder The Beast by Melvina Germain (5/5/2007 6:07:00 AM)

What goes around comes around. Life is specked with bits of irony, and hate will definitely be torn down, deconstructed and made pitiful just like this hollow excuse of a man - even though he was really hollow in the first place, now he can be so in a different way. This piece is an exquisite example of poetic justice at work.

  • POEM: Death Of A Slave Girl by Melvina Germain (5/5/2007 4:37:00 AM)

This poem is so dark, what a vicious thing to do to a person, but especially if it's solely based upon the color of their skin. My heart goes out to any person that has ever been preyed upon, but this picture.. this poor girl.. my heart bleeds. It is very sad that this still happens and that more and more people overlook it. Your poem will definitely open some eyes, and many more hearts to the unexcusable actions of some that have ruined and blemished the lives of others. This is a powerful write, one that is concerned of disregarded compassion and humanity.

  • POEM: (011) Heavenly Gifts-Listen To The Whispers -(Speech) by Melvina Germain (5/5/2007 4:16:00 AM)

I think everyone has a tendency to overlook things, especially the most special of them - the things that give to everyone, including yourself like art, poetry, even helping. Those whispers, be it higher than Earth or just floating in your own head, should be heeded and repeated. If you give something good, you will receive the same though sometimes everyone does end up in the mud, you'll feel that you can get up if you do listen to the whispers. Wonderful speech Melvina, it's very heartening and reminds you to be alive.
