  • POEM: A Lesson On Poetry From My Five Year Old by Stevie Taite (7/5/2016 4:51:00 PM)

Thanks all for your kind comments. I have not been on PH for a few years now and this was an early poem, one that needs an edit (his face with pride did glow? You just can't get away with the syntax folks) . I still rhyme and enjoy form, but form with more of a challenge about it. The obvious end rhymes I do less and less. But I guess this one was part of a personal poetry journey and I should feel honoured to be picked for a poem of the day. Maybe I might post the odd poem now and then, and come by and visit the site for a look about. thanks again X

  • POEM: Evolution by Xelam Kan (6/1/2013 10:42:00 AM)

We do get pulled in by issues of least importance to our survival on this planet. We may be most evolved, and think we have left many primal ways behind us, but in the end we are a species, controlled by wider forces that only Father Time will thathum. Our time on this dear earth is yet still short, but look how we have marred her beautiful
Face. Look at how those who crave power, with extraordinary resources of a dexterous doing, have set in motion a spiral of self distruct. We do not nurture the natural order of things. We fight it, flatten it, make it fit our every need. We are a little out of control to say the least. Thought provoking as usual, sweet Yoda! X

  • POEM: Minister For Exams by Brian Patten (5/13/2013 1:54:00 PM)

What a great poem about the real insignificance of exams. They don't shape us. We shouldn't let them. Furure should not rely so much of them. They do not account for all the different types of intelligence. Great poem!
