  • POEM: Francie! Francie! by Siddartha Montik (12/9/2016 3:33:00 PM)

We all cry out to a devine creator, especially when life becomes difficult and confusing. My hope is that there is more to this life than failure, taxes, tears and death. If the eyes are the windows of the soul, then poetry is a crying voice of the soul searching for truth. Faith is firm belief in something for which there is no proof, but complete trust and strong conviction in a personal relationship with God makes our lifes more bearable and satisfying. Good poem, filled with heart-felt sincerity and a hunger for righteousness. I like this poem and will add this poem to MyPoemList. May your muse bless you with wonder verse and inspiration! - Fred de la Foret.

  • POEM: Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas (12/7/2016 11:36:00 PM)

My father suffered great pain and agony as a survivor of a horrible automobile accident. He fought death bravely until his final breath. I was a 13-year old troubled youth in 1967, and I prayed to Almighty God that my father would survive his severe injuries. My prayer for my father was please, do not go gentle into that good night, rage, rage against the dying of the light! He fought the good fight but God took him away from me. I still love this fabulous villanelle by Dylan Thomas. It has comforted me and has helped me to accept the loss of my hero and best friend, my father, Morris Joseph Foret (1927-1967) . Rest in Peace, my beloved father, your loving son.
